Fanwood Ice Skating Rink to Open Friday

January 24, 2013 at 12:00 PM

FANWOOD – The ice skating rink in Fanwood’s LaGrande Park will open at 4:00 pm on Friday, January 25.

The rink, located at LaGrande Ave and Second Street, will be open from 4:00 to 5:30 pm during the week and from 1:00 to 5:30 pm on weekends, when weather conditions permit. Skating is FREE for the public, and there will be an attendant on duty. Children, 9 and under, need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Bob Budiansky, Fanwood Director of Recreation, said that “the rink is reopening for the first time, in my memory, in at least a decade.” The rink had been cloased due to a leak, and was resurfaced, along with other surfaces in the park, in late 2011 and early 2012. Parking is on the street and is free.

Bring your skates and enjoy the rink!
