Fanwood Kicks Off Saturday Mornings in the Plaza


FANWOOD, NJ -- The Borough of Fanwood has launched a new initiative that will provide a variety of enjoyable, community activities in Downtown Fanwood on Saturday mornings.

“Saturday Mornings in the Plaza” will be held at the Fanwood Plaza, adjacent to Mara’s between Fanwood Crossing I and II on South Avenue, weather permitting, for 8 weeks in the spring and 8 weeks in the fall.

“Saturday Mornings in the Plaza” events are free and open to the public. Local organizations, groups or artists will be featured each week. Activities may include Tai Chi, children’s story time, knitting lessons, coffee cafes, bingo and more.

Mayor Mahr’s office is soliciting the actives and will be creating spring and fall schedules, which will be posted on the Borough's website and on social media.

For the inaugural Saturday Morning in the Plaza event, the Goddard School will host activities for children focusing on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math).
