Fanwood Mayor and Scotch Plains Mayor Elect Begin Planning

FANWOOD, NJ – Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr and Scotch Plains Mayor Elect Kevin Glover have begun meeting to consider plans for the New Year.

“I really do look forward to working with the Scotch Plains mayor elect and the council,” said Mayor Mahr.  “I think we can really advance the discussions that have been started regarding sharing services.”

Both mayors feel that the two towns share a very long history of cooperation and believe that there are many other avenues to be explored in the future.

“It’s all about doing what is best for our residents,” said Mayor Mahr. “Because we are a community that shares a school district, and a long history of being able to work together, I’m eager to continue the discussion.”

“I couldn’t be happier to be working with Colleen Mahr, who I consider to be one of the brightest mayors in New Jersey,” said Mayor Elect Glover.  “I’m looking forward to getting back on track again with merging our police departments.   I think there are a lot of opportunities that we can investigate together and the taxpayers will be the beneficiaries of our work.”

“I see Mayor Mahr as a positive partner for Scotch Plains, she is very talented and I think our communities are going to be better for these ideas,” concluded Mayor Elect Glover.
