Fanwood "Party in the Park"

FANWOOD, NJ – Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr, Union County Freeholder Chairman Al Mirabella, Bob Budiansky, Executive Director of Recreation and Joe Valente, Chairman of the Fanwood Recreation Commission were all on hand for the official ribbon cutting for The Party in the Park at LaGrande on Tuesday evening.

“Tonight we want to launch the pavilion, made possible by a grant from the Union County Freeholders, acknowledge the other upgrades such as the skating rink and basketball courts, and officially launch our summer program,” said Mayor Mahr.

“This is a great example of what happens when we all work together, “ said Freeholder Al Mirabella.  “This is a beautiful structure and a wonderful park for all residents to enjoy.”

Bob Budiansky invited all residents to continue to attend the various events and summer programs put on by the Fanwood Recreation Department.

Many residents attended the Party and enjoyed food, music, booths of information and a small carnival of rides and amusements.  At dusk, it was time to quiet down and enjoy the “Movie in the Park” with a showing of the animated favorite, Rio.
