Fanwood Recreation Commission – Camp Registration Night


FANWOOD, NJ - Fanwood Recreation will be holding its summer camp registration night on Thursday, March 14, beginning at 7 PM for Fanwood residents only and 7:45 PM for everyone, at the Forest Road Park building.

This will be the first opportunity to register for the Fanwood Recreation Summer Park Program, which will go for 8 weeks, from June 24 through August 16. Parents will also have the opportunity to get information and register for the Fanwood Tween & Teen Travel Camp and other camps as well.

The Summer Park Program camp hours will be Monday thru Friday, 9AM to 12 noon and 12 noon to 3PM. The camp is open to children ages 5 – 11 and will be held at LaGrande Park. There are 77 slots available per session.

There will be structured programs tailored for specific age groups in a safe neighborhood environment! Certified teachers and experienced counselors lead children in fun-filled activities.

Entering Kindergarten and 1st Grade: Weekly activities include parachute play, playground, water fun, arts and crafts, storytelling and more!

Entering 2nd and 3rd Grades: Weekly activities include arts and crafts, water activities, team sports, board games and more!

Entering 4th, 5th and 6th Grades: Weekly activities include team sports and contests, arts and crafts, Olympic competitions, scavenger hunt and more.

Plus theme weeks for children entering Kindergarten–3rd Grades. Themes include Superheroes, Carnival Week, Space Week, All Star Week, Catch A Wave, Land Before Time - Dinosaur Week, Wild West Week, and Music through the Decades. Crafts, activities and entertainment will be tied into the weekly theme for the younger campers.

Children are encouraged to bring a snack and water if registered for morning session, and a lunch that requires no refrigeration if registered for the afternoon session.
