JERSEY CITY, NJ -- Fanwood resident Christopher Maloney, '16, was among this year's winners of The Spirit Awards, the highest non-academic honor a student at Saint Peter’s Prep can receive. The awards were presented to students at a recent liturgy, continuing a 36-year tradition of recognizing the unsung heroes of the school community.

Maloney was cited for his openness to growth, adherence to core values, and genuine kindness by Saint Peter's Prep. He was also recognized for excellent work in campus ministry, particularly on immersion trips and retreats. He is the son of Kathy and Brian Maloney and is a graduate of Holy Trinity Interparochial School. Maloney will continue his education at Loyola University Maryland.

The first Prep Spirit Awards were presented in November 1981 when the late Fr. John Browning, S.J. ’46, then principal of Saint Peter’s, began this tradition. is Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s only free daily paper. Sign up for our daily eNews and follow us on Facebook and twitter @SPF_TAP.
