FANWOOD, NJ – The Fanwood Police Department is asking residents to be more security conscious when it comes to locking their cars and garages.

Just last week there was a rash of break ins, with what seems to be a record of five cars broken into in a space of 12 hours.  At one location, an open garage was also entered.

All vehicles were unlocked at the time and a variety of items were stolen.  Anyone who might have observed any suspicious vehicle or persons after hours is asked to contact the Fanwood Police Department.

Fanwood Chief of Police Richard Trigo also pointed out that similar incidents have occurred in surroundings towns during this same time period.
