FANWOOD/SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Fanwood–Scotch Plains YMCA Boys “Black” swim team kicked off their first dual meet of the season on Nov. 5 with a win over the Somerset Hills YMCA Boys “A” Swim Team. 

Top Scorers for the FSPY boys:

8-U: In the 25 Free, Aaron Frank, Harrison McClure, Tyson Moose took 1st, 2nd, 3rd , while Douglas Gee and Moose took 1st and 2nd in the 25 Breast. Frank and Sean Stanik finished 1st and 2nd  in 25 Back. Stanik and McClure took 1st and 2nd in the 25 Fly, and the 8-U team of Stanik, McClure, Moose and Frank topped it off with a 1st place in the 100 Freestyle Relay.

9-10: Evan Weber and Ryan Jawor finished 2nd and 3rd in the 100 Individual Medley (IM), with Owen Waibel and Robert Lambert touching 2nd and 3rd in the 50 Free. In the 50 Breast, Waibel finished 1st, while Jawor touched 1st in the 50 Back. MacLaine Priesing took 3rd in the 50 Fly.

11-12:  Corey He and Richard Park took 1st and 2nd in the 100 IM. In the 50 Free Darien Betances took 1st and Aidan Trenery touched 3rd. Brandon Cortez and Trenery provided a 1-2 finish in the 50 Breast, while Betances and Park took 1st and 2nd in the 50 Back. He and Ryan Kim took 1st and 3rd in the 50 Fly.

13-14s, Matthew Chen took 3rd in the 200 IM and Jeremy Kronheimer finished 3rd in the 100 Free. Chen took 1st in the 100 Breast, while Kronheimer took 3rd. In the 100 Back, Sean Merkle finished 2nd. Jason Mongiovi finished 3rd on the 100 Fly.

15-18s: Chris Bondarowicz got things going for the FSPY 15-18s, as he finished 1st in the 200 IM; Josh Cohen and Logan D’Amore followed up by taking 1st and 3rd in the 100 Free. Bondarowicz contributed another 1st in the 200 Breast, as Zachary Kronheimer took 3rd. In the 200 Back, Cohen, Alan Shao and Eric Chang swept 1st, 2nd and 3rd, respectively, while Shao and Julian Park continued the FSPY dominance as they took 1st and 3rd in the 100 Fly.
