SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Due to the unpredictability of tonight's weather, including the possibillty of heavy rains and predicted winds, the Scotch Plains Fourth of July Fireworks display has been postponed from tonight (Saturday) to tomorrow (Sunday, July 2). 

The decision was made amongst Mayor Al Smith, Fireworks Chairman Ralph Checchio, and Township Manager Al Mirabella after consulting with the Union County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and Dennis Van Natter, Scotch Plains OEM Director.

It is scheduled for the same time (7:00 p.m.) for activities and fireworks at sundown.
