FANWOOD, NJ -- FlexSchool, a micro school for gifted and twice exceptional students, is expanding into the space previously occupied by Be Craftful.
The space will be a combination of meeting, eating, and creation space, according to Jacqui Byrne, Head of School.
"The students are thrilled to be getting a new multipurpose room and can't wait to see what it looks like. Right now there is a square hole in the wall where the new door will be," said Bryne, who plans to install sofas, tables, and a kitchenette. "Students peek inside every day to see if there is any progress."
Recently, FlexSchool has been approved by The Department of Homeland Security to issue international student visas, and the team is excited to admit international students. Additionally, FlexSchool also opened a second school in New Haven, CT, where it was featured in the New Haven Register. Heidi Molbak, Head of School in Connecticut, will run the new location.
FlexSchool is an independent private school in New Jersey formed to serve "twice exceptional students" -- students with a high intelligence and at least one other exceptionality, such as a learning disorder or some emotional disorders, that makes traditional educational environments inappropriate for their needs.
