Focus Will be on Teens in March at Scotch Plains Library

The Scotch Plains Public Library staff has planned some exciting March events for teens in grades 6-12.

On Monday, March 3 at 3:15 p.m., teens will be watching Percy Jackson: The Sea of Monsters.  Bring your friends, enjoy a snack, and decide if the movie is as good as the book.

On Monday, March 10, in celebration of Teen Tech Week, teens are invited to attend Scotlib’s Teen Technology Bonanza.  Together, participants will create a teen zine while learning about the library’s apps and tech devices.  Before you leave, you will have a chance to complete our online scavenger hunt to be entered to win a gift card.

Whether you’re Irish or just “Irish for the day,” join the library staff in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.  On Monday, March 17 at 3:30 p.m., write limericks, decorate and enjoy snacks, and try your luck at trivia.

Finally, on Tuesday, March 25 at 3:30 p.m., ScotLib will host another popular Teen Scene session.  Bring your friends, play Wii and board games, and enjoy a snack after school.

Girls Basketball: Union Catholic Will Play In Game To Support Childhood Cancer

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Union Catholic varsity girls basketball team is honored to be playing in the Gold-Out game at Bernards High School for the third straight year, a game that will raise money and awareness for Childhood Cancer.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m, is called the “Gold-Out’’ game because gold is the awareness color for Childhood Cancer.
