Former Fanwood Fire Chief Stanley Yotcoski Dies at Age 81

FANWOOD, NJ -- The Fanwood Fire Department is mourning the loss of its former Chief Stanley Yotcoski.

"Stan joined the Fanwood Fire Dept in June 1969 and never missed a beat. He served as Chief in 1981-1982," said current Chief John Piccola. 

October 6, 1935, Chief Yotcoski was a lifelong resident of Fanwood. He retired from NJ Transit following 30+ years bus driver and loved fishing. He is survived by his, wife, Marian, and four children.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 12, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Ave. in Fanwood. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Girls Basketball: Union Catholic Will Play In Game To Support Childhood Cancer

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Union Catholic varsity girls basketball team is honored to be playing in the Gold-Out game at Bernards High School for the third straight year, a game that will raise money and awareness for Childhood Cancer.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m, is called the “Gold-Out’’ game because gold is the awareness color for Childhood Cancer.
