We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Powerful words written by an imperfect man, Thomas Jefferson. Words that are true throughout time. Words that have allowed us as a country to guide our journey to become the beacon of freedom, equality, and hope for the rest of the world.
And although we have come a long way, the journey is not over. For like the author of those famous words, we are all imperfect.
So, on this 4th of July, let us embrace the concept of those words and continue the journey of this great nation in a way that is respectful to all and with the understanding that we are all imperfect members of one national family.
Let’s all enjoy and safely celebrate the day with family, friends and neighbors.
