Friends of the Fanwood Library Fall Book Sale Begins Thurs, Sept. 18

Friends of the Fanwood Library's annual book sale takes place this weekend.
The annual Friends of the Fanwood Library Fall Book Sale takes place Thurs, Sept .18th to Sun, Sept. 21st at the Forest Road Park clubhouse.

FANWOOD, NJ -- The annual Friends of the Fanwood Library Fall Book Sale will take place at Forest Road Park (clubhouse) from Thursday, Sept 18 until Sunday, Sep. 21st. Booklovers can choose from thousands of hard cover books and paperbacks, including children's, self-help, biographies, cooking, sports books, and more. DVDs and CDs will also be for sale.

"Every year there is something  unusual, like an opera CD collection or valuable Japanese art books," said Carol Campbell, president of the Friends of the Fanwood Library. "The book is alive and well, contrary to its predicted demise. People are still reading the printed page."

The library recently completed a survey and developed its strategic plan. Among the desires of Fanwoodians are more event space and an elevator to provide safer access to the lower level.

"In order to make improvements, we'll need all the money we can get," said Campbell added. "The annual book sale generates nearly $10,000 for the library. It's an important fundraiser for our efforts to improve the library."

Sale Days:

  • Thursday, Sept. 18 – 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm * Preview Night for Fanwood and Scotch Plains FRIENDS
  • Friday, Sept. 19 – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 20 – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 21 – Noon to 4:00 p.m. (The sale wraps up with a $7 Bag Day!)
