SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Union Catholic girls basketball team came up with some key fourth quarter buckets and played great defense down the stretch to defeat Cranford, 32-27, on Saturday in Scotch Plains.

With UC clinging to a 27-25 lead with 3:10 left in the fourth quarter, freshman Erin McNulty buried a huge three-pointer to extend the lead to 30-25. McNulty, who finished with eight points and four steals and three assists, then sank 2 free throws with 25 seconds left to secure the victory as the Vikings won their second straight game to improve to 9-5 on the season.    
    
Freshman Madison Johnson scored 13 points and had five rebounds for UC, and Izzy DiDario had nine points, nine rebounds, and four blocks for the Vikings.
