Girls Soccer: Cranford Upsets Scotch Plains-Fanwood, 1-0, Ends Hope of Undefeated Season

CRANFORD, NJ - The Cranford Cougars ended the Scotch Plains-Fanwood's dreams of an undefeated season by stunning the Raiders, 1-0, on Thursday afternoon.

Siobhan McGovern scored the game's only goal and Maddie Hart had the assist to help the Cougars upset the previously unbeaten Raiders. One of the previous victories had come against Cranford, 4-0, on Sept. 12.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood drops to 15-1-1, while Cranford (11-2) heads into the semifinals of the Union County Tournament against Westfield on Sunday. The Raiders take on Oak Knoll in the other semifinal match on Saturday.
