NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ -- Caroline Morgan, who has been one of the most clutch goal scorers in Union County this season, scored in the second half, and goalie Ashia Ellison had another sensational game to lead the Union Catholic girls soccer team to a 1-0 victory over New Providence on Saturday.

Morgan, a junior, scored her sixth goal of the season off a cross from Madison McCoy in the second half. Morgan has now scored in six of UC's eight games this season. 

Ellison, a senior, continued her strong play in goal for the Vikings by making 12 saves to secure the victory and the shutout.. 

The Vikings have now won three of its last four games to even its record at 4-4 under first-year head coach Ed Ryan. The only game UC has lost in its recent surge came this past Thursday when the Vikings played a great game in a  2-1 setback to Gov. Livingston, the No. 13 ranked team in the state. Ellison made 14 saves vs. GL.
