Go Wild! at the Scotch Plains Public Library on Thurs, July 28

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Children entering kindergarten through the fifth grade are invited to stop by the Scotch Plains Public Library on Thursday, July 28, at 3:30 p.m. for a special adventure with professional storyteller Don Dougherty of Classroom Adventure Stories.

Mr. Dougherty will be performing his original story: The Children of Scotch Plains Public Library Go Wild in the Jungle!. This highly interactive story will have children running away from a stampede, swinging from vine to vine, rock climbing, and experiencing other jungle adventures. The storyline will also focus on an anti-bullying message while discussing the importance of staying fit. Children who wish to be characters and/or have their names added to the story should arrive to the program about 15-20 minutes beforehand.

Girls Basketball: Union Catholic Will Play In Game To Support Childhood Cancer

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Union Catholic varsity girls basketball team is honored to be playing in the Gold-Out game at Bernards High School for the third straight year, a game that will raise money and awareness for Childhood Cancer.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m, is called the “Gold-Out’’ game because gold is the awareness color for Childhood Cancer.
