Good Lessons from Bad Women at Fanwood Library

Fanwood - On Sunday, February 24, at 2:00 PM the Fanwood Memorial Library is proud to present Good Lessons from Bad Women - a devilishly funny one-woman show about flamboyant author Dorothy Leeds and a collection of infamous women in history. Good Lessons from Bad Women is the story of Dorothy, a good girl who longs to be a bad girl.  Torn between following in the footsteps of her perfect mother and the virtuous Eleanor Roosevelt or those of seven bad women raging from Eve in the garden to Emperor Wu, China's only female emperor and Anne Bonney, an 18th century pirate, to Mae West and more , Dorothy stands at the abyss and dives deep into a world where bad is good and good is bad.  This play proves that the wicked are truly irresistible.

From childhood to the current day, Dorothy  illustrates how "bad" women helped shape her life as an activist, entrepreneur, author and speaker. She does so by becoming each woman, taking her audience through different eras, backgrounds and cultures and sharing important lessons learned the hard way.

Funny, irreverent and thought-provoking, Good Lessons from Bad Women clearly proves that although we may value the good... we find the bad irresistible!

Capitalist or Communist?

Karl Marx may have been the pioneer, but many other Jews were also involved in the struggle for communism, particularly in the early days of the Russian revolution. Having suffered unbearably under successive oppressive regimes, many of those political activists genuinely thought communism would be better ...
