TRENTON, NJ — Gov. Phil Murphy has ordered that the U.S. and New Jersey flags be flown at half-staff at all state buildings and facilities from Friday, Dec. 13, through Friday, Dec. 20, in recognition of the victims of this week’s shooting in Jersey City: Detective Joseph Seals, Moshe Deutsch, Mindy Ferencz and Douglas Miguel Rodriguez.

“Today, we mourn the innocent victims of the shooting in Jersey City. We offer our condolences to their families, especially at this time of year, when families should be coming together in celebration, not coming together in grief,” said Murphy in a press release. “We will keep the victims of this vicious hate crime in our thoughts and prayers as we work to ensure that a tragedy like this never happens again.”
