METUCHEN, NJ - After five years at the helm, Justin Fleetwood, president of Saint Joseph High School, has announced his departure from the institution in conjunction with his next assignment in pursuit of the missions of the Brothers of the Scared Heart at another location.

According to his letter to the faith community, Fleetwood is grateful for his experiences as a part of the Falcon Flock.

 “I am thankful for the opportunity that the Brothers of the Sacred Heart and the Board of Directors have afforded me to serve as Principal and President of Saint Joe’s,” said Fleetwood.  “I have learned much, I have experienced holistic growth, and I have made a number of friendships that I will take with me wherever I go. I will be forever with you.”

Fleetwood joined the school in June of 2015 as the principal and within a short time assumed his current role. He recounted the accomplishments made in partnership with students, parents, Partners in Mission, Board Members, alumni and benefactors during his term including:

  • Improvements and growth to educational and faith programs provided
  • Stabilizing operations and finances to balance budget and eliminate debt
  • Increasing funds in the school’s Foundation
  • Revitalization of the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations
  • Facilities improvements and modernization  

Saint Joseph High School (145 Plainfield Ave., Metuchen) is a private, Catholic all-boys college preparatory school located on 70 acres operated by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, who have been active in American education since their arrival from Lyons, France in 1847. The faculty is comprised of competent lay and religious educators. The school draws students from a wide geographic area encompassing over 40 school districts and over 75 grammar schools in Middlesex, Somerset, and Union Counties, as well as outlying areas.
