SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ—The National Weather Service has announced a flood watch and hazardous weather outlook for Western Union County beginning at 1 p.m. today through Thursday morning and a wind advisory from 4 p.m. until 6 a.m.
A strong coastal storm is expected to bring on average 1 ½ to 2 inches of rain across the entire area. The heaviest rainfall is expected late today into tonight, with possibility of snow.
According to the service, rain, the temperature to reach a high near 38 degrees and wind is expected to be 15 to 20 miles per hour this afternoon, with gusts reaching 35 miles per hour.
This evening, wind gusts tonight could reach 50 miles per hour, according to the service.
