FANWOOD, NJ -- Houdini Pizza Laboratory (25 South Ave, Fanwood) announced Monday that it would close for an undetermined period of time after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
"A staff member who worked over the weekend tested positive, so in an abundance of caution, we are closing," said owner Joe Mortarulo, who also runs Darby Road Pub, which had to close earlier in the fall when employees tested positive.
"We are going to follow the advice from the health department," Mortarulo said. "We have not had a lot of inside dining, so there were not many possible exposures. The rest of our staff is getting tested, and we are cooperating with the health department with contact tracing."
"I want to thank all our customers for supporting us and hope to see them again as soon as we are able to do so," Mortarulo said.
