FANWOOD, NJ – The municipal parking lots behind Fanwood Crossing have been under construction for several months, causing concern for residents and merchants.  This past week the lot behind the merchants was completely closed, to allow for final paving.

“I want to thank residents for your continued patience while construction is taking place in the downtown municipal lots,” said Mayor Colleen Mahr in a written statement.  “Though the weather has impeded the pace of work behind the stores, progress continues. Please be aware excess parking can be found in the train station lot free of charge after 3 P.M. and all day Saturday and Sunday. There is also 2 hour parking available on all surrounding streets of downtown Fanwood.”

It is expected that all lots will be completed over the next week, weather permitting.
