SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Jamie Todaro, 7, of Scotch Plains recently competed in the Pitch, Hit, and Run contest sponsored by “Scotts.” The event starts at the local level and gives boys and girls ages 7-14 the opportunity to compete and advance to a national event held at the MLB All-Star Game.

Jamie won the local event held in Scotch Plains. She then competed in the sectional event held in Verona and placed 1st there as well.

By having one of the top 3 scores in the Northeast region, which is comprised of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, she qualified for the regional event held at CitiField. Jamie was the only competitor from New Jersey in her age group and ended up coming in 2nd place, falling just short of qualifying for the nationals.
