SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The JCC of Central New Jersey is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Goldstein as its new executive director.
Goldstein joined the JCC 14 years ago and has served in many capacities. He held leadership roles in the JCC’s Teen Department, and for over nine years was the Camp Director for Camp Yachad, the JCC’s summer camp. Most recently he served as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the day-to-day management of JCC operations, facilities, safety and security and IT systems.
In his new role as executive director, Goldstein brings a deep understanding of the JCC, a passion for its mission and a loyalty to staff, volunteers and members.
“I want to be sure that our JCC remains an accessible, inclusive and welcoming place for everyone in our community,” Goldstein said. “I am very excited to have the opportunity to lead our strong JCC community as we embark on our next steps.”
Peter Weissbrod, JCC Board President commented: “We were thrilled to be able to promote from within. Mike has been an integral part of our JCC for so many years. His experience overseeing the agency’s facilities and operations will serve him well as he transitions to executive director.”
A former professional musician, Goldstein has a Master’s Degree in Musicology from Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester. He still loves to perform at the JCC and outside venues. He lives in Fanwood with his wife and their two daughters.
