SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ  -- Scotch Plains-Fanwood senior Jacob Leigh finished 5th in the Boys 400 Meter Dash with a time of 48.59 at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions (MOC) on Saturday, June 8. He also qualified to compete in the Boys 100 Meter Dash and the Boys 200 Meter Dash at the MOC, which was held at Northern Burlington High School. These performances -- along with his overall excellence this spring -- earn him recognition as his week's Joint Motion Physical Therapy Athlete of the Week.

Leigh, a senior, also shined at the Union County Conference Championships at Gov. Livingston High School in Berkeley Heights in May. The British-born track & field star won the 100 Meter Dash in a PR  of 10.84; the 400 Meters in a NJ#2 and PR of 48.58; and cleared 6-0 to win the high jump with a NJ#6 jump of 6-4. He also helped Scotch Plains win the Watchung Division team title by one point over Westfield.

Leigh will continue his studies and his athletic career next year at NJIT, where he will major in Industrial Design.
