SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- On Monday, June 19 at 6:30 p.m., community members will host an evening of music, food and fellowship to mark the culmination of Scotch Plains Public Library’s Voices from the Margins project. This program will be held at the Willow Grove Presbyterian Church located at 1961 Raritan Road.

Thanks to the hospitality of Willow Grove Presbyterian Church, the community will be treated to keyboard stylings by pianists Gil Chapman and Fred Fischer, with vocal accompaniment by Lauren Scales and Stephen Fuller respectively. High school students will provide context and an overview of the Juneteenth celebration, its importance to the Black community, and its relevance to modern-day America. After a one hour program, we will move outdoors to enjoy free refreshments and  games. This event is presented by the Library and Social Justice Matters. Please register in advance.

Community Juneteenth has been proudly supported by a grant to The Friends of Scotch Plains Public Library from Investors Foundation.
