'La La Land' in La Grande: Fanwood Hosts Couples Movie Night Under the Stars on Sat, July 22

FANWOOD, NJ -- The Fanwood Recreation Department will host its first annual Couples Movie Night Under the Stars, a free showing of the Academy Award-winning La La Land at La Grande Park on Saturday, July 22 beginning at 8:30 p.m.

In a magical old-school romance, La La Land tells the tale of two L.A. dreamers -- a suave, charming soft-spoken jazz pianist and a brilliant vivacious playwright -- attempt to reconcile aspirations and relationship while waiting for their big break. The film was nominated for 14 Oscars and won six of them, including Emma Stone (Best Actress ) and Damien Chazelle (Best Director).

In addition, for those who bring their appetites, food trucks selling a variety of food and dessert items will be parked nearby. Alternatively, people are welcome to bring a picnic dinner or other snacks. (Please note that the consumption of alcohol is not allowed in the park.)
Be sure to bring beach chairs or a blanket and enjoy a wonderful night of stargazing (at the silver screen) under the stars! is Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s only free daily paper.
