SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Gov. Phil Murphy tweeted out the latest statewide COVID figures on Saturday:
- 3,015 new positive PCR tests, and 718,873 total positive PCR tests
- 1,055 new positive antigen tests, and 91,217 total positive antigen tests
- 37 new confirmed deaths and a total of 21,160 confirmed deaths since the pandemic began a year ago.
Statewide, New Jersey has administered 2,405,816 vaccine doses (1,590,174 first doses and 815,460 second doses) as of mid-morning Saturday.
Locally, Mayor Colleen Mahr reported 13 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Fanwood on Friday, March 6, 2021. Scotch Plains, which last reported figures on March 1, has reported 1,329 positive cases since the pandemic began one year ago. Twenty-two residents of the township have lost their lives to the disease during the past 12 months.
Union County has reported 202 new confirmed COVID cases and has had 50,077 total confirmed COVID-positive cases. There have been 1,584 confirmed deaths from the virus over the past 12 months.
