SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Scotch Plains-Fanwood Lacrosse Coach Nick Miceli was named Coach of the Year in the Bianchi Division by
Miceli's squad finished 11-9 for the season while facing local powerhouses including Westfield and Summit, as well as division rivals Delaware Valley and . The Raiders fell to archrival Westfield, 11-10, in the Union County tournament semifinal round. SPF also reached the semifinal round of the North Jersey, Group 3 state tournament.
"It's a testament to all our coaches (Coach Jordan, Robal and Martinez) and our players for how hard they worked this season," Miceli said in an interview with TAPintoSPF. "The program just keep growing in the right directions: successful seasons, All State players, Academic All-Americans, sending players to college and a positive family like culture for the boys."
"There is a strong bond between our high school and youth programs, and it is paying off for us," Miceli added. "Its less about me and more about our whole program from top to bottom and all those who are involved."
