FANWOOD, NJ -- Mayor Colleen Mahr and members of the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce, joined Fanwood couple Vishal and Bhavna Ajwani for the grand opening at the new Lightbridge Academy (15 South Ave., Fanwood) on Saturday, June 16. The franchise has taken over what once was the Sun Tavern.

Founded 20 years ago by Guy and Julia Falzarano, the Lightbridge corporation, which is based in Iselin, has grown to nearly 100 centers. The overall business is based on a philosophy called the Circle of Care, in which the needs of parents are as important as the care and education of their children.

When Vishal and Bhavna moved to Fanwood in 2011 with their son, Krish, they found it difficult to find quality childcare in the area – which led them to finally opening a Lightbridge Academy several years later. Lightbridge serves children from six weeks of age through Kindergarten. is Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s only free daily paper.
