Mad Science Summer Programs at Scotch Plains Public Library

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Scotch Plains Public Library is excited to announce programming for all ages featuring Mad Science.

Kids in grades 5 and up are invited to "The Science of Magic" on Wednesday, July 13, at 6:30 p.m. to discover how to make objects disappear and reappear using optical illusions, polymers, mirrors, and many other tricks of the trade.

On Wednesday, July 27, at 6:30 p.m., kids of all ages are invited to Egg Helmet. Try to figure out which materials will be safe helmets for our egg friends to prevent their shells from cracking during impact tests.

Kids in grades 5 and up are invited to "The Science of Sport" on Wednesday, August 10, at 6:30 p.m. to learn how physical and chemical sciences affect equipment, movement, and technique.

These programs are free and open to all interested participants. Attendees must register in advance: call 908-322-5007 x 204, email library@scotlib.org, or sign up online at www.scotlib.org.

Scotch Plains Public Library is located at 1927 Bartle Ave., one block from Park Avenue in the center of town.
