Mayor Smith to Visit Scotch Plains Farmers Market on Sept. 9 to Talk Downtown Redevelopment

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Mayor Al Smith, along with other members from the Downtown Redevelopment Committee, will be at the Scotch Plains Farmers Market this Saturday, Sept. 9, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to talk with residents about redevelopment in the township.

"We will have a table and bringing flyers, charts, maps, and other handouts," said Thomas Strowe, Project Coordinator for Scotch Plains Redevelopment. "Our goal is to update residents about the progress of the Downtown Redevelopment Committee and to get more input and feedback from residents."

Girls Basketball: Union Catholic Will Play In Game To Support Childhood Cancer

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Union Catholic varsity girls basketball team is honored to be playing in the Gold-Out game at Bernards High School for the third straight year, a game that will raise money and awareness for Childhood Cancer.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m, is called the “Gold-Out’’ game because gold is the awareness color for Childhood Cancer.
