Mother Seton Regional High School….a Beacon of Hope

CLARK, NJ - Students from Mother Seton Regional High School have organized a school team for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life fundraising event which will be held on June 3 at Rahway Park.

Voting on a school wide ballot, the students named their team “Setters for Survival” as a tribute to the Irish Setter, the breed which has been the long time mascot for the school. “There has been an overwhelming, positive response from our students who want to make our Mother Seton team successful for the benefit of others”, says Corinne Wnek, the Director of Guidance and a cancer survivor herself.

Mrs. Wnek said that there are several upcoming fundraising activities that Mother Seton will sponsor for their team, including a Valentine heart sale. “These hearts will be displayed in our main rotunda and will be in remembrance of someone or in support for someone with cancer” she says. “We will also have these hearts as part of our offertory gifts at our next liturgy.”

A schedule of future fundraising events is still being planned with all proceeds going to Relay for Life, courtesy of the Setters for Survival.
