New Marquee for Cultural Arts Center

FANWOOD, NJ - Union Country Freeholder Chairman Al Mirabella, Freeholder Vernell Wright, Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr, Council members and members of The Fanwood Cultural Art Performance Series were on hand Tuesday evening for the official ribbon cutting for the new marquee for the Patricia M. Kuran Cultural Arts Center in the front lawn of Fanwood Borough Hall on Martine Avenue.

“The Heart Grant gave us money for ads in the paper, but people who attended the Performance Arts Series always said they heard about it by word of mouth or by e-mail,” said David Blechinger, Co-director of the Performance Series.  “When we asked them what would help get the word out, if ads in the paper were not working, they came back with the idea of a marquee.”

After consultation with Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr, who also thought a marquee was a good idea, the Committee incorporated the idea into the current year’s Heart Grant.
