FANWOOD, NJ -- Thinking outside the box,Nick's Pizza will deliver pizza and poetry when they order pies on Friday, April 28.

As part of a literacy program, Nick's teamed up with Park Middle School and will feature over 300 original poems written by 7th grade students taped to delivery boxes . The effort was initiated by Alexandra Hanner, a writing teacher.

"I thought this was a great way to give the students an authentic audience for their writing," said Hanner. "It is a great way to promote literacy in the Scotch Plains-Fanwood community."

"Ms. Hanner was Nick Watterson's teacher when he attended Park Middle School," said Rob Watterson of Nick's Pizza, which was named after his younger brother. "When we asked Nick if he remembered her, he said 'Yeah she's so awesome.' After organizing such a great idea to promote education and creativity, I really see what he meant. She is awesome."
