FANWOOD/SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- NJ TRANSIT's performance woes continued on Monday, August 13, as "service adjustments" -- cancellations, in other words -- were required to advance Positive Train Control (PTC) equipment installation."

The beleaguered rail service has "temporarily discontinued" some weekday trains and has made changes to trip origin or destination impacting customers along the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line, and Raritan Valley Lines, among others, according to NJTtransit.com.

Additionally, following this weekend's flash flooding in the area, Penn Station New York received an influx of water. As a result, NJT's 7th Ave Concourse sustained substantial damage to the ceiling and entrance to the concourse. Until further notice, the area is closed, as crews work to repair the damaged areas.
