FANWOOD, NJ -- The silence will be broken when the Fanwood Memorial Library hosts a performance of Tom and Sandy Doyle (the "Les Paul & Mary Ford of Today" sing The Great American Songbook on Sunday, Feb 22, at 3:00 p.m.
The husband-and-wife team of Tom, who worked with Les Paul for more than 45 years, and Sandy Doyle capture the magic of Paul and Ford's music. Through Tom's spellbinding guitar and Sandy's smooth vocals, the music will span generations. They will recreate top hits such as: Tennessee Waltz, How High the Moon, Via Con Dios, Bye Bye Blues, The World is Waiting for the Sunrise, and others.
Les Paul and Mary Ford were a popular 1950s husband-and-wife duo in which Paul played the guitar and Ford sang. In 1951, they sold six million records. Between the years 1950 and 1954, Les Paul and Mary Ford had 16 top-ten hits. They were so popular that they had their own syndicated TV show "Les Paul & Mary Ford At Home" (1954-'55) and were given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
