FANWOOD, NJ --  The Fanwood Borough Council on Monday introduced an ordinance revising its downtown development plan. Specifically, the proposed changes relate to the former Dean Oil site at the intersection of La Grande Avenue and Second Street. The property, now known as Station Square, will have an increased number of units

"This is the last major piece of the Block 64 redevelopment area. The revisions allow somewhat increased density that will help borough meet its (COAH) affordable housing obligation," said Fanwood Borough Attorney Daniel McCarthy. "The number of units will go from 24 to 35 with seven affordable units in those 35."

The revisions also reduce setback distances, increase the number of units to be built, and height of buildings, which may now be three stories high. The plan will soon be available on the Fanwood website.
