SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- After becoming the only amateur to make the cut for weekend play, Scotch Plains native John Pak struggled on Saturday as he shot a +9 and dropped to tie for 59th place at the U.S. Open Championship at Winged Foot in Mamaroneck, NY. He will play again on Sunday and will hope to improve on Saturday's performance.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old Matt Wolff is atop the leaderboard heading into the final round of play on Sunday. He shot a -5 to stay ahead of Bryson DeChambeau, who is in second place after shooting a -3 on Saturday. Now a pro, Wolff was an NCAA All-American at Oklahoma State and won the 2019 NCAA Division I individual championship.
