SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ --  Mrs. Pam Sawicki, Union Catholic's head girls J.V. volleyball coach, will be recognized by the Somerset Patriots on Wednesday, June 13, as part of its Positive Coaches Night at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater.

Coach Sawicki, who completed her 20th year as head J.V. volleyball coach and assistant  varsity volleyball coach at UC last fall, was nominated for the honor by UC Athletic Director Jim Reagan Sr.

The coaches chosen for Positive Coaches Night were selected because they have going above and beyond on and off the field and provided their players, school and community with an enhanced and positive environment.

Coach Sawicki, who played volleyball at Union Catholic before graduating in 1996, has had a great run as the J.V. coach at her alma mater. Under her leadership, the Vikings J.V. squad has captured seven Union County Championships, including the 2016 title.

"I definitely feel honored that Mr. Reagan thought of me,'' said Coach Sawicki. "I've been coaching here for a long time and love it here at Union Catholic. To receive this honor is something that means a lot to me.''
