SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Career (PARCC) Infrastructure Trials for portions of grades 9, 10, and 11 (rescheduled from earlier this month) will take place today, Wednesday, Feb. 18 for portions of grades 9, 10 and 11.

The brief simulation to prepare for the upcoming PARCC testing also will occur on Friday, Feb. 20, for grades 3, 5, and 8; and portions of grades 9, 10 and 11.
"This experience will provide students with an opportunity to use the computer-based testing tools and respond to different types of test questions," wrote Kate Rosander, district test coordinator for SPFK-12. "Classroom teachers will guide students through the process, which will take approximately 45 minutes."

Students will not receive any score or evaluative feedback, as this is simply a time to practice using the testing platform.

"We hope that students will find this experience valuable as we prepare for this new assessment," Rosander added. "Please contact your building principal directly should you have any questions or concerns regarding this simulation."

To those of us in Jewish education, it is a continuing source of disappointment that so many Jews still believe the kosher laws to be outdated.
