FANWOOD, NJ – The Fanwood Arts Council and the Carriage House Poetry Series invite the public to attend a special posthumous book launch for “Whatever Happens,” by Wendy Rosenberg of Westfield, on Sunday, March 5, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Kuran Arts Center, adjacent to Fanwood Borough Hall (75 North Martine Ave.).

Published by Tiferet, “Whatever Happens” is a collection of Wendy Rosenberg’s poems. Wendy was planning the book when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April, 2016. She faced a terrible illness with amazing courage and grace. Sadly, Wendy passed away on August 13, before the book was completed. Friends and family members have completed the project for her.

Wendy Rosenberg was a special education teacher with many years of experience as a teacher and a poet. She became a Certified Applied Poetry Facilitator (CAPT) through the National Federation of Biblio/Poetry Therapy, and was a member of the National Association for Poetry Therapy (NAPT). She attended the Expressive Arts Institute at Salve Regina University where she received training as an Expressive Art Education Facilitator. Wendy was also a Kaizen-Muse creativity coach and a Reiki master.

Widely published in numerous journals, Wendy also was active in poetry readings and was a popular workshop presenter. Her first book, “In the Waiting,” was published by Finishing Line Press in 2014. As founder of the Westfield Poetry Group, she hosted workshop meetings at her home for eleven years. The recipient of a Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation teacher scholarship to the Fine Arts Work Center, Wendy took her love for poetry and the creative arts into classrooms, homeless shelters, after-school programs, and bereavement workshops.

The book launch for “Whatever Happens” will celebrate Wendy’s life and her legacy of words. The public is welcome to attend. The 90-page book will be available for purchase, and all proceeds will go to charity. There will be a brief reading of poems from the book at 4:00 p.m. and refreshments will be served. There is no charge for admission.

Sinai or Sanctuary?

And in the beginning, G‑d was homeless, and so G‑d asked His people to set Him up with some digs. Where does it say that? Well, nowhere, actually. But it does say that G‑d instructed Moses to tell the people, “They shall make for Me a Sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.”
