FANWOOD/SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi has posted the unofficial results of Tuesday's Democratic and Republican primaries.
 
In Fanwood, candidates in the Democratic and Republican primaries ran unopposed. Among the Democrats, Erin McElroy Barker collected 438 votes, while newcomer Patricia Walsh had 458 votes. Brian Walter tallied 162 votes for the Republicans, who are running just one candidate for two vacant Council seats.
 
Among Democratic candidates running for the Scotch Plains Township Council, Elizabeth Stamler had the most votes with 1,257, followed by Josh Losardo with 1,227, and Roshan White with 1,209. In the Republican primary, Andrew Bondarowicz had 549 votes, Jeff Kowalczyk had 544 votes, and Sonali Dalvi had 538.
 
 
Statewide, Sen. Robert Menendez outdistanced his Democratic challenger, Lisa McCormick, by a 65% to 35% margin. In the Republican primary for U.S. Senate, pharmaceutical executive Bob Hugin trounced Brian Goldberg by gaining 88% of the vote.
