SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- This passed weekend marked the 240th anniversary of the historic Battle of Short Hills (June 26, 1777). To commemorate the events, reenactors of the Brigade of the American Revolution visited two of Scotch Plains' historic buildings -- The Cannonball House (1840 Front St.) and The Frazee House (1451 Raritan Rd.).

Scotch Plains Mayor Al Smith, Councilman Ted Spera and Township Manager Al Mirabella were present during the tours of the sites.

A historic reenactment of the battle was held at Oak Ridge Park in Clark on both Saturday and Sunday. Click here to read the story with battle scene photos.
