SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- The 11th annual Scotch Plains-Fanwood Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service commences on Monday, January 20, with an opening program ceremony held at the JCC of Central New Jersey on at 10:00 a.m. New Jersey First Lady, Tammy Murphy, will attend the Martin Luther King Day ceremonies at approximately 10:40 a.m.

Volunteer opportunities will be available throughout the day from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Activities include putting together Goodie Bags for Veterans that contain handmade picture frames and candy at the JCC, Senior Brunch and Bingo at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, and Making sandwiches to be delivered to St. Joseph’s Food Pantry in Elizabeth. (Please bring a loaf or two of bread, deli meat, and sliced cheese if you are able to Willow Grove Presbyterian Church.)
