SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Through grants and sponsorships as well as funds raised at the Mayor’s Charity Gala, almost all the funds necessary to begin the next phase of restoration to the historic  Rotary-Aunt Betty Frazee House have been secured.

However, according to Liz Mangan, who is spearheading fundraising efforts, $200,000 is needed immediately in order to keep matching grants that had already been secured for the restoration project.

At the most recent Scotch Plains Council meeting, Dr. James Checchio and his sister, Portia Sue Checchio, announced a $25,000 contribution in honor of their father, the late former Mayor Mauro Checchio.
