FANWOOD, NJ -- With bright sunshine and unexpectedly high temperatures, the 23rd Fanny Wood Day celebration attracted large crowds for the annual street fair showcasing the best of downtown Fanwood.

The festival attracts a wide variety of vendors and food trucks, while also providing the opportunity for local non-profit organizations to get the word out about their good works.

The day also featured popular competitions, including the annual water balloon toss, ice cream-eating contest at Rocko's Ice Cream, and other games of skill. A highlight of the day was an appearance by heavyweight boxing legend Gerry Cooney, a Fanwood resident, who signed autographs and posed for pictures with kids and adults. is Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s only free daily paper.
