SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Scotch Plains Township hosted a different kind of summer concert on Wednesday evening with Live Band Karaoke in which members of the public could fulfill their fantasies of being rock stars.

Twenty-three "lead singers" joined the "Golden Boyz of New Brunswick" band during the event.

"We gave them a night tonight that they'll never forget," said Mayor Al Smith, who took the stage with his fellow "Redevelopment Rockers" to sing Tom Petty's Running Down the Dream for the evening's finale.
